Nathan Aspinall has vowed to ‘batter’ Luke Littler when they meet in the Premier League this week in Brighton, and has told his opponent as much.
The practice partners face off on Night Six this Thursday, with Aspinall coming off winning last week in Exeter, impressively beating Peter Wright, Luke Humphries and Rob Cross on the way to the win.
Littler is still waiting for his first win on a night’s action, but his consistency so far sees him sitting second in the table and ahead of Aspinall, only behind Michael van Gerwen.
Both Aspinall and Littler suffered disappointment at the UK Open over the weekend by losing to Damon Heta and the Asp intends to pour more misery on the Nuke on Thursday.
‘I’ve gone back-to-back final and won in Exeter. I’m full of confidence and you can see that with how I’m playing. I want to be here; I want to be playing the big players every week,’ Aspinall told Oche.
‘Forget how good Luke is at darts, the sport is now global because of him,
‘Rest assured I’m going to smash him in Brighton. I keep telling Luke, the next time we meet on that stage, I’m going to batter him.
‘He also knows what I can do. We train together regularly, and he’s never beaten me in practice. ‘He hit that fantastic nine against me in Bahrain, but it’ll be a different story in Brighton.’
The other quarter-finals on Thursday see Humphries take on Gerywn Price, Cross face Van Gerwen and Michael Smith meet Wright.
Snakebite is desperate for a win as he is still rock bottom on zero points, somewhat marooned five points behind Price in seventh.
