Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended his warm wishes to Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marks her 64th birthday on Saturday.
In his congratulatory message, the governor described Tinubu as a compassionate and strong-willed individual who has been a pillar of support to President Bola Tinubu.
The First Lady, who previously served as the First Lady of Lagos State and a three-term Senator, has significantly impacted the lives of many Nigerians, especially women.
According to Sanwo-Olu, her selfless dedication to public service has continued to shine since her husband (Bola Tinubu) assumed office as President on May 29, 2023.
This was contained in a statement released on Friday by Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
The governor praised the former senator for her tireless efforts in addressing the needs of women and children through various empowerment programs and projects.
He highlighted her work with the Renewed Hope Initiative, which has provided relief and support to families across the country.
“Senator Oluremi Tinubu is a great ambassador of our dear Lagos State,” Sanwo-Olu remarked.
“Her contributions to the development of both Lagos and Nigeria are commendable. We celebrate her today and always for her kindness, advocacy for social justice, and philanthropic endeavours.”
As she turns 64, Sanwo-Olu offered prayers for Tinubu’s continued strength, good health, and guidance in her ongoing service to the nation.
The statement read, “On behalf of the government and people of Lagos State and my adorable wife, Ibijoke, I heartily congratulate Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of our leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on the occasion of her 64th birthday.
“Senator Oluremi Tinubu deserves to be celebrated, especially on her birthday, given the quality and selfless service she has rendered to our dear Lagos State and Nigeria in different capacities both in her private and public life.
“Over the years, our Amazon has etched her name in gold as an advocate of social justice, a philanthropist, a voice of the voiceless and a kindhearted person as Senator, when she represented Lagos in the Red Chamber for three consecutive terms and now as First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Senator Oluremi Tinubu has shown her passion for the needy in our country, especially women and children, through several pet projects and empowerment programmes she initiated during her tenure as First Lady of Lagos State and a member of the Senate.
“She has also impacted many lives as the wife of the President through other projects, such as the Renewed Hope Initiative, to directly and indirectly, bring succour and relief to many families.
“Senator Oluremi Tinubu is a great ambassador of our dear Lagos State. She has played critical roles in the growth and development of the State and Nigeria. We are proud of her achievements at the state and national levels.
“On this occasion of her 64th birthday, I pray for God’s continued guidance and good health for Senator Oluremi Tinubu. God will give her the strength to render more service to humanity and our dear country, Nigeria.”
