The Australian played with the Irishman during his brief stint at Old Trafford from 1999-2001 and was clearly very impressed.
The Red Devils won the Premier League in Bosnichās only season as their first choice goalkeeper, with Keane the captain of the side and a key player.
Bosnich reckons the central midfielder was as good as anyone in the world at the time, including legendary Frenchman Zidane.
āI said this to Roy Keane when he came over here to Australia, he was one of the greatest players of his generation, far better than a lot of people gave him credit for,ā Bosnich told FastestPayoutOnlineCasino.com.
āIām talking up there with the likes of Zinedine Zidane. That night against Juventus in the Champions League semi-final he was outstanding, player of the match.
āI think a lot of people concentrate some more on perhaps his enforcer role that he played later in his career, but he was an outstanding player of his generation. He had very, very high standards.ā
Keane is regularly linked with a return to management after spells in charge of Sunderland and Ipswich, but Bosnich is not sure it would be the right move for him.
āIād rather Roy Keane stay on TV,ā he said. āI think in the present day environment after speaking to a lot of ex-players who are now managers, you have to be very very careful how you speak to the new generation of players.
āAs weāve seen with the punditry, I think itās very difficult for him to sugarcoat anything, these days it would probably get him into more trouble than itās worth.ā
Keane said earlier this year that he is interested in managing a team again but has turned down opportunities as he waits for the right one.
āI think so,ā Keane said on The Overlapās Stick to Football of a management return. āNot that youāre going to get the Real Madrid job but itās got to be the right challenge, the right club, and the right contract.
āIāve had opportunities, but sometimes you get offered a contract and you have to look at it with self-worth, is it the right deal for you? Iād like to go back in [to management], but Iām not desperate to sign any contract for anybody.ā
