Paul Pogba has hit back at Wayne Rooney amid claims the Frenchman danced in the Manchester United dressing room after losing football matches.
Pogba has been left angry after club legend Rooney insisted that the French midfielder â along with former teammate Jesse Lingard â danced after defeats.
Rooneyâs views on Pogba and Lingardâs alleged inappropriate dancing were recently revealed by another former United player, Rio Ferdinand, on a podcast.
Pogba, who played for United from 2009 to 2012 and then 2016 to 2022, has decided to respond directly to Rooney and told Sky Sports: âI want to clarify.
âI heard Wayne Rooney say that we lost a game and me and Jesse were dancing in the changing room.Â
âYou always need a witness, OK? If someone can confirm what Rooney said, I will accept it.
âIf there is not, it is not true. Lingard never confirmed that because I am a very bad loser and I respect the club.
âWayne Rooney, a legend of the club, sitting there and not saying anything. Do you think that matches?â
Ferdinand once rang Rooney to complain about Pogba and Lingard âdancing on Instagramâ while the team were struggling.
âI rang Wazza (Wayne Rooney) when I saw Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard dancing on Instagram when we were sixth in the league,â Ferdinand said this month.
âI rang Wazza and said, âWhatâs going on here? How are you allowing this?â And he said you canât say nothing man, itâs not the same anymore.
âHe said itâs not just those two, there would be a big group looking at me like Iâm mad if I said anything.â
Meanwhile, Pogba insists he has no hard feelings towards Jose Mourinho following their turbulent relationship together at Old Trafford.
