Day 13 of the Olympics is already well underway and there promises to be more medal action for Team GB.
Action has started early this morning with the women’s 10km marathon swim now under way in the Seine with Leah Crisp goes for gold.
The highlight from a British perspective is likely to centre on Katarina Johnson-Thompson who is targeting success in the women’s heptathlon.
So close for Matthew Hudson-Smith
Looking back on last night and it was a case of so near, yet so far for Team GB 400m runner Matthew Hudson-Smith who came within touching distance of an historic gold medal.
‘I set up exactly the way my coach told me to. We knew it was going to come down to the last 50 metres,’ said Hudson-Smith after his race.
‘I genuinely thought I had it. He had another gear. I hit the gear a little bit too late and as it came up he had one step on me and that’s it.’
