Nollywood actor Chris Bassey has revealed his transition to a new career in plumbing after relocating to Canada.
During an Instagram Live session with media personality Daddy Freeze, which went viral on Saturday, the film star shared his decision to move into construction, specifically plumbing, highlighting the financial rewards of his new profession.
He emphasized that plumbing “pays better than tech jobs,” citing his own experiences.
When asked about his career choices since moving abroad, the film producer responded, “I’m into construction here, I do construction, I’m a plumber.”
Bassey speaking in Pidgin, also mentioned the places he has visited across Canada for work over the last seven months, noting, “In the last seven months, the provinces I have visited on weekends just within Canada, someone who is into tech cannot afford what I was paid. I am not capping. I know what I am saying, I do not know about the US but here.”
Bassey’s journey in entertainment began as a scriptwriter in the early 2000s.
His first screenplay, *Master of The Game*, was written in 2004. In 2012, he made the transition to acting after being encouraged by veteran actor Charles Inojie. Since then, he has appeared in several films, including *Sin Of A Woman* (2013), *School Trouble* (2014), *Love In A Valley* (2022), and *A Bet On Love*.
