The 55-year-old was a star at Old Trafford in the early 1990s, winning two Premier League titles, while also playing for the likes of Everton, Rangers and Fiorentina in a fabulous career.
The Russian was watching the match between England and Spain on Sunday and reportedly insults were exchanged with another person in the bar.
The argument became physical and Kanchelskis was left needing first aid from staff, sporting a black eye after the clash.
Speaking to Russian outlet SE after the incident, Kanchelskis said: ‘I’m fine now. A small conflict, we clashed over interests after the final match of the Euros.
‘I want to note that the conflict did not happen because of the football match – but a personal matter.
‘I wrote a statement to the police about my offender. What will happen next I don’t want to advertise it. A trial is possible, and I will wait for the decision. We will do everything within the law.’
Kanchelskis enjoyed a brilliant stint in Britain which saw him win two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, League Cup and European Super Cup with Manchester United from 1991-94.
After spells with Everton and Fiorentina he moved to Rangers where he won two Scottish League titles, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups.
He went into management after his playing days but has not exactly pulled up any trees, recently leaving his post at Kyrgyz side Muras United.
