Lucas Paqueta and James Ward-Prowse both scored after Pabio Sarabia’s first-half penalty as West Ham came from behind to secure all three points, but Bowen’s injury will have taken some of the gloss off the visitors’ victory.
Bowen, the Hammers’ top scorer with 15 goals in the Premier League this season, was kneed from behind by Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes shortly into the second period and initially attempted to play on at Molineux.
But it quickly became clear that the England international could not continue and Aaron Cresswell came on in his place in the 54th minute.
The Irons next face Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday night and it remains to be seen whether Bowen will be passed fit to feature at BayArena.
‘We’ve got to hope that he’s okay,’ West Ham manager Moyes told reporters at his post-match press conference.
‘He’s had a knee into his hip or back. It’s not a twist. He said he’s got kneed and he’s really stiff.
‘I’ve had one or two of those myself and they don’t go away too quick. I’m hoping it won’t be too bad.’
