Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy has announced his commitment to work alongside Manchester United’s new coach, Ruben Amorim.
Although initially considered as a possible replacement for the sacked Erik Ten Hag, van Nistelrooy has reaffirmed his dedication to stay with Manchester United following Amorim’s appointment.
In a post on Fabrizio Romano’s X handle on Sunday, he said, “Staying here with Amorim? I’m here to help.”
“Manchester United would be the only job I would take as an assistant. I have to say, I really enjoyed the role.”
“I committed myself to the role of assistant manager, and I did it with great pride,” he said.
It is worth noting that van Nistelrooy enjoyed a winning start to his caretaker spell in charge of Manchester United, guiding the team to the League Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday with a 5-2 victory over Leicester at Old Trafford.
He joined the Red Devils last summer.
