The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Aderemi Oseni, has appealed to Nigerians to give President Bola Tinubu more time to fix Nigeria as challenges facing the country are surmountable.
He made the appeal on Sunday while unveiling an N250 million empowerment initiative for the Blacksmith, Welders, Iron Benders, and Metal Technicians Association of Nigeria, held at Bembo Game Village, Apata, in the Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Oseni also appealed to them to remain steadfast and support the Tinubu-led administration despite current economic challenges.
The lawmaker agreed that some of Tinubu’s policies are tough, but that is exactly what the nation needs at this particular period so as to have a brighter future.
“Efforts by President Tinubu to fix Nigeria will soon yield positive results. Nigerians should keep their hope alive for a better and prosperous Nigeria as challenges facing the country are surmounted.
“Tinubu, as a friend of the masses and promoter of mankind, is concerned about how to make life better and more meaningful for Nigerian citizens,” he said.
Speaking on the N250 million empowerment programme, the lawmaker said the initiative was aimed at enhancing the skills, productivity, and business potential of metal artisans across the state.
He commended the resilience and economic contributions of blacksmiths, welders, and other metal workers, emphasizing their vital role in the state’s economy.
Oseni, the Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency, said the empowerment was part of his broader agenda to support artisans, as the programme will provide BWAIAN members tools, machinery, and financial assistance to enhance their trades and improve their livelihoods.
The lawmaker also reiterated his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents and the people of the state.
“The N250 million initiative includes the distribution of essential tools, equipment, and financial grants to BWAIAN members, aiming to expand their businesses, boost their incomes, and contribute to the state’s economic development,” he stressed.
In his remarks, the BWAIAN state leader, Munirudeen Rauf, lauded Oseni’s gesture and called on other political leaders and well-to-do people in the society to follow his exemplary leadership by supporting small and medium-scale entrepreneurs.
He commended him for his kind gesture and assured him that the equipment would be judiciously utilized for the benefit of the members.
