Gabriel Magalhaes has hailed his partnership with William Saliba but admits the Arsenal star sometimes makes him scream swear words during games.
The two centre-backs are the heart of Arsenal’s defence and have played vital roles under manager Mikel Arteta, transforming the Gunners into title contenders.
They came desperately close to helping Arsenal register their first Premier League trophy since 2004 last term but they narrowly missed out to Manchester City.
Arsenal are once again back in the title fight this season and currently sit top of the table with 10 top-flight fixtures remaining.
Speaking ahead of the showdown against Pep Guardiola’s champions on March 31, Gabriel has opened up about his relationship with fellow Gunners star Saliba.
‘We speak the same language,’ Gabriel told Stadium Astro. ‘I am Brazilian but I speak French.
‘On the pitch, the communication is very important. We are good friends and sometimes I need to say, ‘Ah Saliba! F*** sake!’ – he’ll say it to me as well.
‘It’s good for us. He understands me and I understand him.’
Saliba, meanwhile, quizzed about his partnership with Gabriel, said: ‘I love him, he loves me. It’s easy to play with him!’
In the same interview, Gabriel and Saliba also named Arsenal star Jorginho as the player in Arteta’s squad who would be most likely to one day enter management.
