Erik ten Hag ‘expects’ Rasmus Hojlund to return from injury for Manchester United’s FA Cup clash against rivals Liverpool next Sunday.
Hojlund has missed United’s last three games due to a muscle strain was unable to play in matches against Manchester City, Fulham and Nottingham Forest.
The Denmark international striker had been in glowing form before the injury, conjuring up seven goals and two assists in his last six top-flight appearances.
Hojlund was stopped by United fans outside Carrington on Thursday and said ‘we’ll see’ when someone asked if he would feature against Everton this weekend.
But Ten Hag has suggested that Hojlund will not play against the Toffees and will instead make his comeback for the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool on March 17.
The Dutchman also provides updates on Marcus Rashford, Jonny Evans, Mason Mount, Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Omari Forson.
‘That’s the good news, they [Rashford and Evans] recovered after the derby, so they are available [to face Everton],’ Ten Hag told a press conference on Friday.
‘The rest is the same squad apart from Omari Forson. He dropped out, he has an injury. Mason Mount – I think he is in a good spell now and he will return shortly, I think after the international break.
‘For next week, some players are planning to return, hopefully when the process will continue like it is now.
‘Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka – I expect them to be available for our game against Liverpool. Hojlund as well.’
