He has two more games ahead of him in the coming days, with the Three Lions hosting Greece and then going to Finland for the reverse fixture in the Nations League.
The former Everton and Birmingham midfielder has strengthened his case to take the job on a permanent basis and is a genuine contender for the role, with Colwill sounding like he is on board with the idea.
The Chelsea defender has high praise for the rookie manager, saying he has quickly won over the senior squad after stepping up from his role with the Under-21s.
āI think the lads really like him,ā said the three-cap England star. āI do and I can only really talk about myself. I trust him and weāll see what happens in the future.

England host Greece on Thursday before travelling to take on Finland in Helsinki on Sunday.
