Brentford are clearly not over Kai Havertz’s alleged dive on Saturday, posting a video of the incident on their TikTok channel a day later.
Arsenal beat the Bees 2-1 at the Emirates after Declan Rice had given them an early lead before Yoane Wissa equalised just before the break.
Havertz was the hero for the Gunners as he headed in an 86th minute winner, but the visitors felt he shouldn’t have been on the pitch by that stage.
The German was shown a yellow card earlier in the game for catching Kristoffer Ajer with an elbow and Brentford felt he should have been given a second booking for diving.
The former Chelsea man went down in the box despite there seemingly being no contact at all with Brentford defender Nathan Collins.
Havertz escaped punishment and was in the right place at the right time to win the game for his team, but the Bees are still unhappy about it.
Along with some eerie music and a ‘shocked’ emoji, Brentford posted a video of Havertz going down extremely easily.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank said on Sky Sports: ‘I actually don’t think Havertz should be on the pitch when he scored. It was a clear dive. Maybe it is difficult for the ref but the linesman should have seen it.’
In a subsequent BBC interview, he added: ‘They [the players] were very angry because they felt they were hard done by with the penalty shout with Havertz. You can see the angles, it was clearly a dive. That was a second yellow and then it is 11 v 10.’
Arsenal legend Ian Wright agreed, saying on Match of the Day: ‘I do agree with Thomas Frank, he probably shouldn’t have been on the pitch for that but he was and I was pleased he was to be honest!
‘I think the assistant should probably be doing more there. The assistant should be seeing that.’
