Andy Murray and Dan Evans have once again recorded a dramatic victory at the Olympic Games in Paris – but when do they play in the quarter-finals?
Murray and Evans missed two match points in a dramatic second-set tie-break – but got the job done with their third in another pulsating first-to-10 decider – to once again delay the 37-year-old’s upcoming retirement from professional tennis.
The Team GB duo also saved two match points themselves, beating Belgium’s Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen 6-3 6-7 (8-10) 11-9, meaning they’ve now saved a total of seven over their opening two matches on the Roland-Garros clay.
But when do Murray and Evans play next at the Olympics and who could they play in the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles competition?
When is Andy Murray’s next match at the Olympics?
Murray’s next match at the Olympics will be played on Thursday, August 1.
Andy Murray and Dan Evans will play their men’s doubles quarter-final match on Thursday as they look to book a spot in the last four at Roland-Garros, although we do not know what time the match will start at the present moment.
The British pair will face Team USA’s Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul or Dutch duo Robin Haase and Jean-Julien Rojer in the last eight.
That’s the third match on Court 14 tomorrow, so Murray and Evans will soon find out exactly who their next opponents will be.
‘Andy Murray doesn’t want to go home!’
‘I don’t think he (Murray) wants to go home does he?’ Dan Evans joked after he and Andy Murray reached the last eight in Paris.
‘He’s amazing to play with, it’s an amazing atmosphere. To be a part of this is amazing regardless of what’s happening and I’m over the moon.’
‘It’s unbelievably emotional,’ Murray added. ‘You’re obviously unbelievably happy and then for whatever reason, you’ve got happy tears I don’t know why that’s the case.
‘I was really emotional at the end of the match – extremely happy, excited that we managed to get through with another amazing finish. It takes a lot out of you so I’m glad we get a day off tomorrow.’
